Lyngenera bidai bat egiteak, planifikazio bat eskatzen du. Hemen gertakizunak arin aldatzen dira eta une bakoitzan erantzun azkar bat emateko gai izan behar gara beti.

Un viaje a Lyngen exige cierta planificación. Aquí las cosas se precipitan con gran celeridad y hay que saber responder casi automáticanmente a los acontecimientos, según vayan sucediendo.

The Lyngen trip demands some planning. Here events are triggered so fast and we must know how to answer to every  situation, as  fast as they happen.

Aurkitu ditugun baldintzak, behin berriz ere oso latzak izan die. Hotza eta elurteak protagonista izan die. Honek oso elur baldintza bikainak bermatu dizkigu.

Las condiciones que nos hemos encontrado una vez más han sido muy complicadas. El frío y las nevadas han sido protagonistas. Esto nos ha garantizado una calidad de nieve insuperable.

The conditions we have found here have been very complicated. Freezing cold and snowfalls have been the leading role. This has  guaranteed us a superb snow conditions.

Istinden mendia (1495m). Lyngen penisularen iparraldean, leku hontako jeitsierarik ederrenena izan daiteke. Itsasoraino 1500m desnibeleko jeitsiera zuzena, bere hegoisurialde ikaragarritik. Benetazko mendi haundia, ziurasko Lyngengo ikusmira ederrenarekin.

El pico Istinden (1495m) en la mitad norte de la península de Lyngen, posee posiblemente la bajada más espectacular de todo Lyngen. 1500m de desnivel directos hasta el mar por su pared Sur. Un auténtico montañón, posiblemente con las mejores vistas de todo Lyngen.

Istinden peak (1495m) in the north middle of Lyngen peninsula, it possibly has one of the best descents in all Lyngen. 1500m of difference in height from the top to the sea, a direct downhill through its spectacular southface. A real monster peak, which perhaps  represents one of the best points of view in Lyngen alps.

Bost sentzumenak argi ditugu, badirudi gaur elur baldintzak ezinhobeak direla, sinezgaitzak, elur hauts lehor ikaragarri asko oso baldintza ziurretan. Ez gaitu bitxikeri honek itsutu behar.

Con todos los sentidos alerta, parece que las condiciones son únicas e increibles, con un paquete de nieve polvo seco insultante, no debemos dejarnos cegar.

All our senses alert, it seems conditions are unique and unbelievable, with a huge pile of fresh and dry powder ready for us, we must be clever.

Eguraldiaren iragarpenean jarraitzaile itsuak bihurtu gara, azkeneko egun hauetan aldaketa guztiekin bete betean asmatu baitutelako. Gaurkoan dena betetzen bada, arratsaldean zeruak garbituko dira.

Confiamos ciegamente en la predicción, porque parece que se cumplen todos los diferentes cambios a rajatabla, si al final se cumple, habremos conquistado el mundo.

We blindly trust in the forecast, beacuse last days it has been able to hit the target almost in every little change. If finally everything goes OK, we will be conquering the world.

Isurialdearen goikopartean, gailurreraino eramaten zaituen korridore motz bat dau, hemen oso tentu ibili behar dogu,  aldapa tentean, asko kostata, bularrarekin bidea irekitzen baitdugulako.

Al final del todo, existe un corredor, a través del cuál accedes a la cima, la parte más delicada, pero hoy nos cuesta abrir trinchera, ya que la pendiente nos pone la nieve a la altura del pecho.

At the end, there’s a little corridor through which you are able to reach the summit, the most delicate part. But today we have hard job opening track, because of the steep slope, where we have to walk with the snow in our chest.

Ia korridore erdia eginn eta gero, arrano kabi batetan erabakitzen dogu igoera bukatzea.

Tras recorrer casi la mitad del corredor, en un nido de águila decidimos dar por finalizada la ascensión.

After going across almost a half of the corridor, in a eagle’s nest, we decide to finish the ascent.

Gure lehioa ireki da eta baldintza hauetan tontorrera iristea indar gehiegi eskatuko luke eta denbora asko kostatu bebai.

Ha llegado la ventana y llegar a cima en estas condiciones exige un esfuerzo sobrehumano que nos llevaría demasiado tiempo.

The good weather window is already here, and these snow conditions will demand to much effort and time.

Orain bai, jauregiko ateak zabal zabalik geratzen dira eta valikiriek su ta gar ateratzen dira.

Ahora sí, se abren las puertas de palacio y las valkirias salen cabalgando a fuego.

So time is now, the doors of the palace are opened wide and valkyries go down riding and kicking ass.

El cielo acaba por abrirse en su totalidad, desnudando completamente esta zona del planeta.

Finally the sky is totally clear, and this part of the world gets naked for us.

Éste era el día D. Debiamos tener fé y echar toda la carne al asador.

This was the D-day. We had been waiting patiently this moment and now we are abled to give our best.

Odín dispondría para nosotros la alfombra gloriosa para entrar al Valhalla.

Odin would put for us a glorious carpet to enter Valhalla.

Gure buruan hiru helburu nagusi genituen, hoietako bat bakarra lortuz gero garaipena eskuratuko genuke.

Teniamos en mente tres objetivos estrella, cumplir con al menos uno de ellos sería considerado una rotunda victoria.

We had three big objetives in our mind, being able to achieve only one of them could be considered a big triumph

Suficiente para apaciguar el hambre y justificar el viaje.

Enough to calm the hunger and justify the trip.
